Fucking hell . Sir Guthrie

I have alot of nostalgia for this movie, its such a nice self contained story about a humble young dude discovering the gritty lifestyle of the blues and in the end helping an old man from his lifelong debt by using his monstrous classical skills to defeat basically a videogame final boss at the end in most epic way, good stuff.

As a classical musician, whenever people say stuff like "approach classical music with respect", or "don't joke about Mozart", or "classical music is serious", it makes me laugh because Mozart was not a serious person by nature. He certainly was serious about composing music, but he also loved musical jokes and would write them into his own music and improvise all the time, so I don't think he would have minded something like this. Also, classical music isn't as serious as people think; it's often the way elitists paint it, but classical music can be silly, unserious, filled with jokes, and definitely improvised. My piano teacher is a composer and encourages me to write my own interpretation of the music, and it makes life a lot more enjoyable. Thanks for the guitar tabs, by the way. I just picked up the guitar and am doing very basic chords for now, but it's great practice for me to read tabs more often. I've never seen this movie, but I'd really like to someday, and other films starring Ralph Macchio

Guthrie Given is a truly jawdroppin guitarist but sadly he will never reach the legendary status of Django Reinhardt or Hendrix not that they were better players he is just as good or even better but they were innovators guitarists that made other players sit up in Amazement and change their outlook on what the guitar is capable of
